Zodiac & GiantMouse Unveil a Masterfully Engineered Dive Watch and Knife Ensemble

Amid the storied lineup of legendary dive watches, Zodiac’s Super Sea Wolf hasn’t always garnered the recognition it truly deserves. Born in the 1960s and evolving from the already iconic Sea Wolf, this dive watch arrived with groundbreaking innovations: a locking bezel, an integrated screw-down crown-and-stem system, and then-unmatched water resistance of 750 meters.
Tragically, the Quartz Crisis hit Zodiac hard. Yet, the brand persevered, thanks to its acquisition by Fossil. Approximately a decade ago, Zodiac made the decision to revive the Super Sea Wolf—a move that has gifted the modern dive watch landscape with distinctive, often vibrant additions to the catalog.
Most recently, in a collaboration with Danish knifemaker GiantMouse, Zodiac has unveiled a professional dive set pairing a watch and knife. Every bit as purpose-built as Zodiac’s historic underwater timepieces, this collection embodies the same uncompromising focus on function and legacy.

An Unlikely Origin Story
The collaboration traces back to GiantMouse co-founder Jim Wirth crossing paths with the Zodiac team at a Windup Watch Fair. If you’ve spent any time around Jim, you know he’s not just a knife guy playing dress-up at a watch show. He’s a true collector, and a vintage Zodiac diver in a colorway strikingly similar to this one is reportedly what lit the spark.
Founded in 2015 by Danish designers Jens Anso and Jesper Voxnaes alongside Wirth, GiantMouse built its reputation on Scandinavian-designed, Italian-crafted limited-run folders. Their GMX took Blade Show’s Knife of the Year in 2023. Pairing them with a watch house that equipped U.S. Navy SEALs during Vietnam is, frankly, an obvious match.

The Watch: Exotic Revisited
The Super Sea Wolf Pro Diver here is based on the 42mm stainless steel diver with 300m of water resistance and a Swiss STP 1-21 automatic movement that’s COSC-certified to keep time within -4/+6 seconds per day.
The colorway, though, is where Zodiac and GiantMouse set this edition apart. The black sunray dial carries orange hour markers and a pale blue ceramic bezel insert, a direct callback to a 1970s “Exotic” colorway that Wirth himself owns. Gold-toned hands add some contrast to the stark palette.

The Knife: Actually Built for the Water
GiantMouse’s contribution is a fixed-blade dive knife made in Italy from N360 Satin Steel, chosen specifically for its saltwater corrosion resistance. The 3.8-inch blade sports a blunt tip for safety, partial serrations for cutting nylon or kelp, and an integrated line cutter. The handle is black anodized aluminum with an orange G10 inlay, echoing the watch’s dial colors. Perforated handle cutouts allow water to pass through freely, which also speeds up the rinse-down after a dive. It weighs 4.4oz, and a sheath and leg strap are included.
